Tweeting and Stumbling in the Dark!
Are you on Twitter? Before I started blogging, just over 4 months ago, I didn't realise there was a whole other world out there where complete strangers tweet opinions to each other and blog friends start to feel like people you actually could have a connection with in real life!
When I first signed up for Twitter I struggled to follow even 5 people and I think I had maybe 3 followers. Slowly, it has grown and now I realise that to connect on Twitter you can direct a comment at someone using the @"whoever" and get a "conversation" going by replying to someone else's Tweets. You can "Favour" a Tweet... A big thank you to a few of you out there who have been making Twitter a bit more real for me:
Run with Kate
Eva at Build House Home
Leigh at Poonapalooza
Mummy Loves to Run
Vicki at Fit Mum
Raina at Small Town Runner
Even The Cyclist has his own Twitter account now, he is @thecyclist_au - how appropriate!
So, if you haven't done so already come and say "Hi" on Twitter @everybitcount and see what it is all about.
Another great site for posting ones blog posts to is Stumble, I am still trying to work it out and have only 2 people that I am following and no followers - yet! It has definitely increased my blog traffic but not as much as submitting posts to reddit. I seriously had not heard of reddit before (I admit to being a technological dinosaur) and thanks to an interesting post on social media networking by Liz at Liz for a Day I have now discovered this site, thank you Liz. Much to my surprise I got over 3500 hits on 2 posts (7000 in total) I submitted to this site. Since that, just a trickle so I kind of think it is all a bit random.
So there it is, my baby steps into social media networking, the more I learn the more I know that I have a long way to go.
Are you on Twitter or Stumble?
Have you heard of reddit? Have you posted any posts to this site with success?

ReplyDeleteThanks for the mention. I'm still learning also. My traffic definitely increased when I started using Stubleupon. I have yet to try Reddit. That's next on the list. :)
ReplyDeleteHi Liz, reddit is really random as far as blog traffic is concerned - depends on some kind of voting system they have going and appealing captions - good luck!! If you have any tips please let me know:)
